The LDPE die head is mainly composed of feed port, flow channel, film head and positioning components, and adopts the principle of fluid mechanics under high temperature and high pressure to form a high-speed rotating flow field in the die head, so as to achieve transverse film blowing. The LDPE die head is characterized by excellent film blowing quality, high transparency, high strength and high toughness, suitable for blowing some high-quality, high transparency requirements of the film, such as food film, medical film, industrial packaging film and so on.

Types of lDPE Die Head

Key Considerations For lDPE Die Head

1. Material Compatibility

  • Material of Construction: The die head should be made from materials that are compatible with LDPE, typically high-grade tool steels or stainless steels that can withstand the processing temperatures and pressures.

  • Corrosion and Wear Resistance: The material should also be resistant to corrosion and wear to ensure a long service life.

2. Temperature Control

  • Heating Zones: Proper temperature control is crucial for maintaining the viscosity of LDPE. The die head should have multiple heating zones to ensure uniform temperature distribution.

  • Thermal Insulation: Good thermal insulation helps in maintaining the desired temperature and reduces energy consumption.

3. Pressure Management

  • Pressure Drop: The design should minimize pressure drop across the die to ensure consistent flow and reduce the risk of defects.

  • Pressure Sensors: Incorporate pressure sensors to monitor and control the pressure within the die head.

Design and Function of lDPE Die Head

  • The die head of the film blowing machine is composed of a die body (die core, die cylinder, die ring) and a heater (heating ring). The first material selection is to select the corresponding material.

  • LDPE application: Suitable for food, pharmaceutical, fiber product, daily chemical supplies packaging.  Due to the poor mechanical properties of single-layer PE film, it is also used as the inner layer of composite packaging bags, that is, multi-layer composite film heat sealing substrate.

Applications of LDPE Extrusion

Packaging: LDPE films are commonly used for packaging food, beverages, and other products. They offer excellent flexibility, puncture resistance, and heat sealing properties.

Consumer Goods: LDPE is used to produce a variety of consumer goods, including shopping bags, trash bags, bubble wrap, and squeeze bottles.

Agricultural Films: LDPE films are used in agriculture for applications such as greenhouse covers, mulch films, and silage bags.

Construction Materials: LDPE is used in construction materials like pipe liners, waterproofing membranes, and insulation materials.

Wire and Cable: LDPE is used as insulation for electrical wires and cables.

Toys and Games: LDPE is used to produce toys, games, and other recreational products.

Advantages of Polyethylene Film Extrusion

Versatility: Polyethylene can be extruded into a wide range of film types, including low-density polyethylene (LDPE), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). Each type has unique properties suitable for different applications.

Flexibility: Polyethylene films are generally flexible and easy to handle, making them suitable for packaging and other applications that require malleability.

Durability: Polyethylene is known for its durability and resistance to tearing, punctures, and abrasion.

Chemical Resistance: Polyethylene is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, making it suitable for packaging products that may come into contact with corrosive substances.

Barrier Properties: Polyethylene can be formulated to provide barrier properties against moisture, oxygen, and other gases. This is particularly important for packaging perishable goods.
